Press notes.
We tested seven stocks before settling on this one. The matte coat is calibrated to absorb the room, not to mirror it; the page reads as a held breath, not a polished surface.
Smyth-sewn signatures lay flat under the hand. The spine resists fanning; the cover refuses fingerprints with a soft varnish that reads as nothing at all.
We bind these books in runs of 250. The first twelve copies are kept in the studio against the day the press needs to remember what it once made.

From the press.
Bought it as a gift. Kept it. Bought another. Kept that one too. I am shopping for a third on the grounds that the first two refuse to be written in by anyone but me.
Tomás R.EditorLisbon Wrote a manuscript in silver pencil on the Void Book. It looked, by the end, like a celestial map. The publisher asked for a typed copy. I have not yet complied.
Helena B.NovelistTrieste Tested it under three different lamps. It refused all of them. I now keep it on the desk as a kind of correction.
